L'Arena (The Arena)

One of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters in the world, the Arena has stood in the heart of Verona for nearly 2,000 years. Today it hosts world-famous opera performances, concerts, and cultural events beneath the stars.

 

CASA DI GIULIETTA (JULIET'S HOUSE)

Step into Verona's most romantic landmark and the legendary setting of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Visit the famous balcony, leave a note on the courtyard walls, and admire the bronze statue of Juliet, one of the city's most photographed attractions.

 

Tip: For a unique view of Juliet's courtyard and balcony without the long lines, stop by the gift shop near the exit and head upstairs. Even a small purchase, such as a bottle of water, provides access to the upper level, where you can enjoy excellent photo opportunities overlooking the courtyard.

For the most breathtaking panoramic view of Verona, make your way to Castel San Pietro. The short climb, or the cable car ride, is rewarded with sweeping views across terracotta rooftops, church towers, and the winding Adige River.

 

It's especially magical at sunrise and sunset.  Enjoy an aperitivo at Sunset Bar Della Funicolare at the top!

 

Look for the funicular cable car building to the left of the main stairs on Via Fontanelle Santo Stefano ~ across from the bridge.

 

Ponte Pietra

Verona's oldest bridge, dating back to Roman times, offers some of the most beautiful views of the Adige River and the historic city skyline.

It's especially magical at sunrise and sunset.

 

Once you pass the archway, head left toward the restaurants and a great gelateria. Walk past the main restaurants and head along the Adige river walkway into a local zone for shops and restaurants. 

 

Castelvecchio & Ponte Scaligero

Castelvecchio is the most important military fortress of the Scaliger dynasty. This impressive medieval fortress and its striking red-brick bridge

are among Verona's most photographed landmarks. Explore the museum, stroll the bridge, and enjoy wonderful river views.

 

Basilica di San Zeno

A few steps from San Zeno Charm, this magnificent Romanesque church is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy.

Its peaceful piazza and stunning architecture make it a neighborhood treasure. 

 

Piazza Bra

Verona's grand main square and home to the Arena di Verona. Lined with cafés, restaurants, and elegant historic buildings, Piazza Bra is the perfect place to begin your exploration of the city.

 

PIAZZA DELLE ERBE

Often considered the heart of Verona, this vibrant square is surrounded by colorful frescoed buildings, historic towers, lively markets, and charming outdoor cafés. A wonderful spot for people watching and soaking up local atmosphere. There's a delicious gelataria here ~ Amorino.
